Here’s a little woodworking gem for you :-)
Hands was an Irish television documentary series broadcast by RTÉ between 1978 and 1989, covering traditional Irish crafts. In this episode we’re introduced to Jimmy Fury from County Roscommon on the shore of Loch Rí, where he builds Shannon One Design 18’ sailing dinghies.
When your working week is done and the cat has been let out for the night … why not settle down with a glass of something nice and get acquainted with this magnificent man and his airborne hair?
The best version of this video is not possible to embed, but you’ll find it here.
I was however able to embed this version of the episode, like so:
If you, like me, find YouTube to be an annoying platform for watching video, there are things you can do about that: why not kick against the pricks?
Have a nice weekend!

Old Tools kept sharp with an old stone, with good qulity timber and a good dose of humility. (oposite to much of the woodworking on youtube :-) ) I also loved his good planing technique (no donward preasure on the toe)
Very interesting video. I loved how he could create a beautiful boat with a minimal set of hand tools. Plus the outdoor beltdrive plane!
